Why Run the Race?

  1. We promise that you'll get better race giveaways than you've ever seen at a race!!!  Trust us when we say you'll definitely get your money worth, while supporting a great cause. What you'll get for your entry fee:  (a) In house designed shirt (Badger Coolmax shirt for half marathon participants; Hanes 50/50 wicking shirt for other races), (b) Big 3", in house designed finisher's medal, (c) Three other cool race logo giveaways (four for the half marathoners), (d) Other sponsor giveaways, (e) Food (including Gu) and drinks before, during (Candy Zone) and after, (e) Trophies three deep per division, (f) Wet/dry "Towel Zone" at mile 9 for half marathoners to refresh/recharge at, (g) New Pond Farm - a great setting for the finish line and for family and friends to hang out at during the race and (h) a finisher's program and finisher's certificate e-mailed shortly after the completion of the race.

  2. The people organizing these races have run over a hundred marathons and hundreds of other races. From what we've seen in these races, we're incorporating what we've loved into our races, while avoiding things that were unsatisfactory. We promise to try to make this the best, most organized race you've run.

  3. These races are run on roads that we train on, they're awesome, and we are willing to share, at least for a day.

  4. New Pond Farm is a great cause to raise money for, they have great programs for kids and adults and their people are so nice that it's a pleasure to work with them.

  5. The Connecticut running schedule in early May is light and these races are ideally situated for training for Memorial Day races.
